Welcome to the home of Destin's Toy Poodles
The home of outstanding white toy poodles!
In 1960, my Dad gave me my first poodle for my 16th birthday. She was a little black miniature and I was in love at first sight. Sadly, she had distemper and passed with in the first week. I was heart broken. My Dad then brought home a little black toy poodle who was loved just as much.
Ever since then I have had a poodle or poodles at my side. My miniature poodles would duck, quail, and pheasant hunt with me, ride horse back with me and help move cattle on the ranch. People would have a smirk on their faces but before the day was over they would ask, "who trained your poodle"? and I would respond, "no one, he did what I ask of him because of his love for me".
I spent most of my adult life in Gilroy, CA. where I discovered conformation and obedience. The obedience ring bit me! I had two white toy poodles who won their CD titles and one that had a CDX in Obedience.
After I retired, I moved to Dayton, NV and had only one toy poodle from my breeding program so began searching for a toy poodle of the same qualities and didn’t like what was offered in my area. Now that I had the time to pursue my dream of showing and breeding toy poodles, I had to find quality toy poodles to go along with my dream. It takes time and money to do it right. Picking the right sire to the right dam and then there is the health testing. Health is one of the major goals in my breeding program.
I do poodle rescue with my vet in Dayton, NV. I work very close with her on health issues in the area.
My dogs live in the house with me they have a big yard to play in and a fountain to swim in the hot summers and doggy doors to come and go. They guard the garden and keep the squirrels from stealing the crops and chase the quail. They don’t live in kennels or crates. They are members of my family.
